Factory Reset

Hi all, I am starting to configure the F5 r5800 appliance unfortunately after changing the default password I forgot it. I am unable to find the reset button on the appliance like other vendors. so how can I reset the appliance to its factory default configuration?

    Hi,

    If you have lost both your admin and root passwords, you need to connect to the big-ip serial console and restart in single user mode in order to reset the root password, start form K73551536 for instructions.

    If you have the admin password, then log into the gui then System > Platform and change root password.

    Note: root can only log in from cli, never from gui.

      Hi Kees,

      Thank you for your swift reply. The appliance I am configuring is not the iSerious one rather it is rSerious it also has appliance mode even though I am unable to enter the tmosh shell as well.
