Does anyone know how to display the appliance serial number on a virtual edition big ip? It's an eight-character serial # that begins with a "Z" (all of ours start with "Z" so I'm assuming...). It shows up on purchase orders for virtual edition appliances, but I have no idea where they get it from. When it's time to renew maintenance that's how the vendor references them (then I'm asked, "Are these ours?").

If you encounter any issue that requires F5 Support assistance, you cannot use the BIG-IP VE serial number to open a support case. You must use the last seven digits of the BIG-IP VE registration key.
