Oct 20, 2010No traffic when standby node is powered-off
Hi,
2 F5-BIG-LTM-1500 connected in HA mode via network and serial cables. BIG-IP Version 9.2.4 13.1.
Standby node (id=2) was unintentionally powered-off and suddenly active node (id=1) didn't balance traffic. Requests was arriving to the external port but internal didn't sent traffic.
All virtual servers and pool members were displayed with the red diamond.
When standby node was powered-on the traffic was recovered.
Have you noted this issue? How did you face it?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Mauro.

Hi Mauro,
Were the pool members marked down by monitors on the primary unit? If so, is there a dependency on the second unit to reach the pool members? Or is it possible that an intermediate network device still had a cached ARP entry for the shared IP address(es) of the second unit? If you're able to reproduce the issue, I'd suggest opening a case with F5 Support to get some help troubleshooting the issue.
Aaron
