How to display big ip virtual edition appliance serial number (ex. "ZWIFNYAR")
Does anyone know how to display the appliance serial number on a virtual edition big ip? It's an eight-character serial # that begins with a "Z" (all of ours start with "Z" so I'm assuming...). It shows up on purchase orders for virtual edition appliances, but I have no idea where they get it from. When it's time to renew maintenance that's how the vendor references them (then I'm asked, "Are these ours?").
Thanks!
- Hello Alan. - "A BIG-IP Virtual Edition (VE) system does not have a similar serial number format to the previously mentioned hardware platforms. If you encounter any issue that requires F5 Support assistance, you cannot use the BIG-IP VE serial number to open a support case. You must use the last seven digits of the BIG-IP VE registration key. - Note: For information about finding the registration key of your BIG-IP virtual edition (VE) system, refer to K54213125: Finding the registration key of your BIG-IP virtual edition (VE) system" - REF - https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K3782 - So, the code you are searching should be 'Z' + your last 7 digits of your license. - REF - https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K54213125 - KR, - Dario.
