Altostratusactive - active status
Set up:
- Two (2) F5 rSeries load balancers, in HA set up, in active - standby status.
- Their ConfigSync is within the same traffic group.
- Both of their Self IP addresses are reachable from each other.
Configuration change:
- After changing the management IP address of the two F5 load balancers, their status suddenly changed to active - active.
- In order to make their status return to active - standby, we redeployed in F5OS.
Question:
- Is that sudden change to active - active status considered as expected behavior?

If you changed the IPs and they aren't able to reach each other on these IPs that would absolutely cause an active/active situation. I believe you will also have to update the HA configuration, I can't remember the exact spot, that was using that old management IP. I think the easiest way to find this spot would be to perform a config diff and see what didn't carry over.
Yep. Check the unicast addresses on each tenant (show cm device).
Normally, you should have two IPs configured - the management IP and a self IP. This helps to prevent a split brain scenario if the devices can't reach each other on one set of IPs.
