active - active status

Set up:

• Two (2) F5 rSeries load balancers, in HA set up, in active - standby status.
• Their ConfigSync is within the same traffic group.
• Both of their Self IP addresses are reachable from each other.

Configuration change:

• After changing the management IP address of the two F5 load balancers, their status suddenly changed to active - active.
• In order to make their status return to active - standby, we redeployed in F5OS.

Question:

• Is that sudden change to active - active status considered as expected behavior?
