F5EIHelper.exe triggering UAC with Big-IP Client

I am trying to set up Win 7 pc's with a Big-IP client + Certificate to launch on login, but the UAC pops a permission request every time to allow F5EIHelper.exe. Does anyone know what this exe does and if it's needed. Otherwise, has anyone figured out how to bypass the UAC message without disabling UAC altogether? I've tried working with the MS Application Compatibility Toolkit, but can't seem to get it to fix the issue.

    Sorry for the delay, been on vacation :)

     

     

    It is needed, you will probably have to create a ticket with the support area in order for them to create an installation piece of software that will prevent the UAC from launching.

    I opened a ticket and they seemed to have nailed it - had to right click and run the install as administrator.

    Did this solution completely bypass UAC? Currently we get a few prompts during login and we are trying to bypass UAC. Also is this with the Edge Client or with the web client? What was the exact fix?

    You're going to need to run this as an Administrator or run the F5 Service Installer. This should bypass the UAC.

    When you say "run this as an Administrator" what are you running as "Administrator" and you also say "or run the F5 Service Installer". We have the component installer and we also have the client but I'm not aware of an "F5 Service Installer". Can you help clarify this?

    Hi Mike,

     

     

    Any additional info you can provide will help on this issue... I have tried the Application Compatibility Toolkit with no luck. I have installed the DNS Relay Service with no help. My security department refuses to turn down UAC so my users end up having to enter their username and password a minimum of 4 times when logging on in the morning. They have to login to windows, when launching the Firepass webpage they have to enter credentials to get past the Machine Certificate Checker, then they have to enter their credentials to login to the VPN then they have to enter them again for the UAC prompt on the F5ElHelper... it gets extremely frustrating.

    There is the user/admin installation service that must be installed. In addition, on the .EXE application executable, click properties then on the compatibility tab select "Run as Administrator" then click apply, you should no longer get the warning box
