F5 Caching

Hi All,

I'm trying to set up a new infrastructure for saving the bandwith, currently we using 1G internet connection for web server. So my planning is if i implement F5 caching, how much % bandwith i can save? do f5 have the bandwith saving calculator?

thank you

  • Content Caching is used to reduce WebServer workload rather than bandwidth consumption. Unless you segregate cached content to a separate site, this will not win you anything in terms of bandwidth usage.

If the reduction of bandwidth usage is your main goal, look into BigIP compression features. On the application side, try to reduce the size and quality of images whenever possible. However, most notably, you should consider external CDN services.

Internally hosted BigIP content cache is still useful if you aim to improve your web page loading times.
