Sep 27, 2007Virtualized a Big-IP LTM
Hi,
Is there a way to virtualize a Big-IP LTM to act or look like two or more load-balancing devices? Can a Big-IP LTM have two separate contexts?
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
Thank you.

If he's talking about multiple tmm instances, doesn't the 8400/8800 support that via the clustered-multiprocessing (CMP) functionality? - Herman_Choi_360

Hi,
What I mean by virtualization, can the Big-IP appear as two more different LB devices. For example, the Cisco ACE Application Control Engine Module has support multiple contexts, making it appear as multiple load-balancing devices.
Currently, my Big-IP LTM is sitting in the DMZ to load-balancing traffic in the DMZ. I would also like the Big-IP to load-balance internal traffic for internal servers, which are on different IP subnets, without crossing any firewalls or router interfaces.
Thank you.
Herman
