AltostratusViprion provisioning warning: Unlicensed vCMP
Hi!
Is it normal to receive a Viprion chassis without the vCMP being supported? In the license screen the vCMP support appears only in the optional items area. Do we have a license error?

Renato, a viprion doesn't have to use vcmp, it can be a powerful ADC by itself with the ability to scale up by adding blades to increase CPU and memory, for example.
If you want it to be a vcmp host then you would need the vcmp license.

i have no comment about datasheet but i agree with nathan i.e. i understand vcmp is not included in best bundle. you may double check with f5 sale.

I created a new support case to receive more information.

The Viprion platform requires specific licensing for vCMP support. It is not clear in datasheets, at least for me, BUT IT IS REQUIRED! The better/best bundle only unlocks the MAX SSL, MAX Compression and MAX DNS/GTM support, as well as an increase of APM sessions and concurrent users. I recommend everybody to check these parameters again each time you buy/sell a device.
