Upgrade 9.4.8 to 10.1.0 from Bootable USB not working
I am trying to upgrade a 3600 currently running 9.4.8 to 10.1.0 using the instructions at: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/releasenotes/umd_make_install_9_4_x.html
I created a bootable USB, plugged it into the 3600 front USB port, and rebooted from the console. I get as far as Terminal type? [vt100] and hit enter. Then it just drops into a bash prompt and sits there. The instructions at the above link say that I will be asked a series of questions to answer but none of that happens. Am I missing something? Thanks.

I figured it out. It had nothing to do with the terminal type. For some reason the install was not running past that point. So, I had to put the iso file on the bootable USB and then use the image2disk command to get it to install.

I can try a different iso image. I just made the bootable usb myself this morning.

Do you know the USB thumb drive works? I've had issues with some types of thumb drives. I've also had issues with some versions of F5 code working as expected when trying to boot from a thumb drive. It has been a while, but I may have successfully booted 10.2.3+ from thumb drives during v9 to v10 upgrades
