Unable to boot b2100 blade from USB thumb drive
I am trying to perform a clean install on a B2100 blade on a C2400 Viprion chassis.
I created a bootable USB drive on CentOS linux machine (https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K13164). However, when I power up the blade after putting in the USB drive, the STATUS LED on the blade remains a solid yellow and the USB port on the blade does not power up at all (USB thumb drive LED does not light up). All other LEDs on the blade are off at this point. I am able to access the AOM menu but when I switch to the console for the blade, nothing shows up. Any suggestions?

Since all other LEDs are off at this point, I would suggest that you verify that the blade is actually powering up. Ensure it's seated correctly and try another slot if needed. If the blade will not light up, then I would contact support as it is likely you have a dead blade and need an RMA.

Chris, when I access the chassis information from the AOM menu, I get the following which helps me to believe that the power is on for the blade. I could also turn on/off power to the blade using the AOM menu.
Slot 1 blade information: AOM firmware version : 02.10 AOM bootloader version : 01.02 Serial number : bldxxxxxxs MAC address : 00xxxxxxxxxx0 Power status : on Primary LED : off Secondary LED : off Status LED : yellow solid Alarm LED : off

That should indicate that the blade is powered on, but not yet booted. It is possible that the system doesn't like the thumb drive. I have not seen this, but I have heard of it. Trying a different brand or size of thumb drive may resolve this. I'm sure you've already seen these, but check out:

If none of the above help, and you have confirmed that your terminal settings are correct (likely since you can see AOM), I would open a support case.

Thanks Chris, I will try a different USB and if that does not work, I will proceed with the latter option suggested above.
