Adminshould be possible to do so, though the recommendation is to use the bigip monitor at the server level from GTM and let the LTM report availability to GTM. If you want to troubleshoot the monitor, you can enable debug
tmsh modify sys db bigd.debug value enable
Just make sure you turn it off when you are done.
tmsh modify sys db bigd.debug value disable
