looks the RESOLV::lookup and NAME::lookup cannot be used in DNS_REQUEST event
By checking the description for RESOLV::lookup and NAME::lookup, they are specific the valid events are "ALL_EVENTS".
However, it looks i get error message once i use both of them in DNS_REQUEST event.
Does it mean the "ALL_EVENTS" LTM events not GTM events?
the objective i want to achieve is to resolve a GTM wideIP to an IP address DNS resoluted from another URL/FQDN rather than using CNAME.
Thanks a lot.

Neither RESOLVE::lookup nor NAME::lookup are available commands in the DNS_REQUEST event. https://devcentral.f5.com/Wiki/iRules.DNS_REQUEST.ashx DNS events have a smaller number of available commands than LTM events.
