ID 358575: ConfigSync and ucs files.
The following has been in the Release Notes from v11.0.0 through v11.4.1:
"ID 358575 The traditional ConfigSync mechanism has been replaced with a more robust MCP-to-MCP communication mechanism. As a result, UCS files now load the full configuration in all cases, and no longer have the concept or ability to only load the "shared" portion. Loading of UCS files created on a different device is no longer supported. Workaround:"
What exactly is meant by "Loading of UCS files created on a different device is no longer supported"? Will A109 to A109 still work?

- to be really sure i would open a ticket with F5 support (and do report back here please). personally i do expect it because else they killed the restore UCS on RMA machine method.

I believe it refers to any other device, not specific hardware models.

we use this command in the lab where we have a lab device of the same model as the production box. We use this V11 command below to load the production UCS onto the lab box for upgrade testing in the lab. I'm not sure if this was what your looking for as it does copy the full config including network configuration. This assumes the ucs you want to load has been copied into /var/tmp, run command: tmsh load sys ucs /var/tmp/whatever.ucs no-license

Take a look at this. Every time you RMA a device, you have to do this. http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/12000/800/sol12880.html

The following is from F5 Support today:
1. Explanation: Due to the the traditional ConfigSync mechanism from version 10.x has been replaced in 11.x, as a result, UCS files now load the full configuration in all cases 2. Example: In V10.x, you are able to load full configuration from UCS taken from redundency unit to active unit, you can check on Solution link http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/10000/100/sol10181.html In V11, it will be no longer workable in V11 due to the ConfigSync mechanism changes, which means users are no longer able to restore UCS file taken from different unit to current unit.
