I am new to iRule

Question

I want to have a iRule that say if a web server give a http 404 or 500 error the web server should be fore offline. How do I do this in F5?

Do I have to setup a monitor ? or only do this iRule and it will work for me?

irule will works. anyway, why do you need to use irule? this could also be done by ECV (Extended Content Verification) health monitor.
