NimbostratusHow to modify iRule "Data Goup List" from System
I see that iRules disables TCL language for communicating to the system.
However, I want to communicate between a system application and iRules evaluation rule.
How can I do this?
a) Can I use some method like iControl to add/remove/modify strings in the "Data Group List"?
b) Can I have the system application put evaluation results in a system file to be read by a iRule?
I do not want to control the up/down of a node from the system, but instead I want to provide an evaluation status of a node to a iRule for further processing.
What is the best way to do this?

b) yes, assuming that file is an external data group
There are plenty of customers that use iControl to affect the load balancing algorithms, I'd suggest browsing the iControl forum and perhaps the CodeShare for ideas.
