F5 Logging Capacity
Hi there,
We're currently trying to get maximum performance from CentOS 5 servers running Apache. The usage is very small (1x1 pixel) requests coming in that we use to log stats by breaking up the parameter string in the uri.
My question is whether an F5 offering could offer better performance for this type of small HTTP request than a typical CentOS server? Does anyone have any hard data on this type of usage?
Thanks!
Andrew
- HamishCirrocumulusNo hard data, but the architecture is there to make it quicker in the F5... If you grab the data required in an iRule and send it somewhere else via HSL (Or a SIDEBAND connection) for processing elsewhere you should be able to scale far higher...
