I have done multiple migrations from iSeries to r Series. Let me know if you need any help in similar regards for your projects.

The main difference here is that Host /parent or physical hardware runs on an entirely new OS called VELOS or F5OS, not the TMOS, but on vCMP child/Guest  you still have TMOS OS.

In old i Series Host /parent or physical hardware runs on TMOS as well as the vCMP child/Guest  also have TMOS OS.

So when you migrate you have to re-write the parent config from TMSH to r series OS i.e. on F5OS or VELOS OS syntax which is very very much different than TMOS, 

Child Images can be migrated with less difficulty as in iSeries also they use TMOS and in r Series child also runs on TMOS.

At the host level the configuration has to be converted manually.

I follow the r Series command reference guides.

Only Tenant configuration can be converted using Journey Tool.
