Does Microsoft Exchange Administrator Needs to configure CAS array on 2 CAS servers in order to work with balancer
Exchange administrator gave me 2 CAS servers IP,s and said load balance them with Hardware load balancer.
He Hasn't configured any CAS array on exchange. He think CAS array configuration is not required when using hardware Load balancer.
But so far i have read i think he needs to configure CAS array and CAS array address should be VIP of load balancer. DNS should resolve CAS array to VIP of load balancer right?
Please anyone confirm this.

You are correct. Microsoft even recommend a CAS array object even if you've only got 1 CAS server.
So, create a CAS array object with fqdn/IP address pointing to virtual server on bigip which has the CAS servers as pool members.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
Please confirm which version of exchange you go to configure. Exchange 2010 or exchange 2013.
Because in exchange 2010 there is a casarray object is there. But in exchange 2013 no cas array object is there. So you need to mention both servers in exchange iapp template.
- its Exchange 2010. He has not configured any CAS array But still OWA is working fine through load balancer but RPC services are not working through load balancer, i think that is because they haven't configured CAS array.
