ASM Hack-it-yourself Auction Site Apache Error
Hi guys,
I have a question regarding the Hack-it-yourself auction site (link). I've seen that Apache is not working correctly.
[root@DMS-X root] service httpd status
/etc/init.d/httpd: http://localhost/server-status: No such file or directory
Does anybody know this issue? I've searched in Google about this error message, but haven't found a solution yet.
best regards, Daniel

Daniel, were you able to download the auction site files without any problem? I haven't seen that specific Apache issue in the past, but I'll be happy to help resolve if I can.

Hi John,
yes I downloaded the OVA file from the link I provided and successfully deployed it on my ESX (v5). After that, the only thing I changed was the IP Address of eth0. I will try deploying it another time to see if it is working then out of the box.

Hi John,

Daniel, do you have the BIG-IP configured already? When I set this up and used it for testing, I configured the BIG-IP first and then loaded up the php auction VM. Then, I created an ASM policy, virtual server, etc on the BIG-IP and accessed the auction site via the BIG-IP. Let me know if you need any details on how I set up my lab, and I'll be happy to help.
Thanks, John

in the httpd.conf, is there anything like
SetHandler server-status
Allow from all
?
- Daniel_TremmelAltostratus
John: no I have not yet configured anything on the BIG-IP
Nick: it was commented out, I changed it to
class="prettyprint lang-tcl" /server-status SetHandler server-status Allow from all
but nothing changed, still the same message. Here's the original httpd.conf file: http://pastebin.com/Mub7DRC5

I haven't had a chance to dig into this any further, but I wanted to let you know that Budig Ang (another DevCentral user) converted the auction site from RedHat to Debian, and it's upgradable. Here's a link to the .ova and Readme files: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/09dkjicaes2hygo/AABSGBaJ3H1N8_C2uMLwSVGNa
I'll hopefully have time to look at this more next week.
Thanks! John
