As I can see in the deployment guide and also after what I've experienced; Connections to RDP Resources through APM from Windows 8.x Clients are unsupported.
How can this be and what are ...

NimbostratusMy bad, the portal URL needs to be added to the trusted sites list in IE to make this work. However, the Deployment guide should then be updated on page 19 to reflect this: https://www.f5.com/pdf/deployment-guides/f5-microsoft-remote-desktop-services-dg.pdf
