Access to files on an inactive partition

Dear all, is there any way to access files on an inactive partition ie HD1.1 without booting the device from it? Issue is that we are running 11.6 HF1 from HD1.6 and need now some scripts under /root located on the inactive HD1.1. Many thanks for any hint! Rainer

Sure. Just mount them from the command line. e.g.

    mkdir /mnt/tmp_root
    mount /dev/mapper/vg--db--sda-set.XXX.root /mnt/tmp_root

where XXX is the id of the 'slot' you want to mount. The files will be accessible under /mnt/tmp_root/root

    unmount afterwards with

    umount /mnt/tmp_root

  • Hi If you have a configured RAID on F5, you should check what raid disk response for logical volumes. You can check this by cat /proc/mdstat and check minor and major disk data.
