Why can I not allocate a vCMP guest with 6 cores on a single B2250 blade? The jump from 4 to 8 is extremely large.
I tried thru the CLI and I get this message:
01071738:3: The hardware can't support a 6 core guest on 1 slots.

Walter, have you seen this solution: K14218: vCMP guest memory/CPU core allocation matrix
This confirms what you are seeing. The restriction on this is the total available vCPU per slot, which in the case of B2250 blade is 20. The blades that allow 6 cores have 24 available.
Hope this helps,
N
