Does the vCMP Guest inherit the hostname that is configured when the guest is deployed?

Hi, I have a Doubt I hope you help me answer

Does the vCMP Guest inherit the hostname that is configured when the guest is deployed? that is .., when the guest is configured on the host, the hostname is left blank (by default it takes the value localhost.localdomain) and within the guest it is assigned a hostname (f5_security_us_01) but when the guest is restarted the hostname (f5_security_us_01) changes its name to localhost.localdomain

Why does this happen? and how could you do it so that after rebooting keep the hostname

Thanks for your help <3

  • Yes vCMP guest will give the guest the hostname you configure when creating the guest.

Where is the hostname changed? Host or the Guest? What software version is running on the host and installed for the guest?
