CRUD ops for BIG-IQ application template configuration

Hi,

Looking at two tracks creating applications (1) using BIG-IQ UI to deploy application using templates and (2) as3 server side api -

1. app using templates - as I understand it if the app is deployed via IQ UI using an app template, IQ is the source of truth so CRUD ops should be available to the end user. Other than, enable, disable, force offline, how to edit dest ip, monitor type, traffic groups etc?
2. when as3 service side api used direct to BIGIQ, is it safe to assume that min CRUD ops (to include enable, disable, force offline) should by available in the UI? Not the case. Or, safe to assume, in this use case BIGIQ is not the source of truth so all CRUD ops is unavailable.
