ASM Set active failed

I have an LTM running version 14.1. When i try to apply an application security policy in ASM, i get the error "Set active failed. Signature collection could not be created". I cant find a KB or any posts about this. Any suggestions? I'll raise a case shortly.

I recommend checking through the bd.log and asm.log for more details. Is it an existing policy that you've made changes to or a new policy?

Hello Jim,

Do use virtual machine (VM)?

How much memory is allocated on your machine?

What modules are provisioned?

Most probably you have high swap memory on your machine (you can check it via "top" command).

We saw such issue in case of not enough memory for signature update, so you can try to allocate more memory for you machine (if VM) or deprovision some modules.

In case of 8GB of memory we support only 3 modules at most.

Look at https://techdocs.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/releasenotes/product/relnote-bigip-ve-13-1-1.ht... for more details.

Thanks, Ivan

Can confirm it was a memory problem for me as well.

VM cluster running v14.1.2.6. We deprovisioned some modules we were not using.
