Hello all , I hope you are all fine, Because not all F5 users aren't native in English , I suggest to use something like Microsoft word to detect any wrong spelled word to make it easy for the writer to modify while writing an answer in technical forum or adding technical Article. Also this will save a lot of time in writing and eliminate any misunderstanding may happen 🙂

When publishing an article, have the platform automatically discover relevant content and include links at the bottom of the article, something like an H2 header that says “Related Content” with some bullet pointed hyperlinks
This improves SEO as web crawlers can more easily discover new content, and drives view counts.

Downloads page allows for selection of Group, Product Line and Version, but then tables for Product Containers and Download files are not in any particular order, making it more difficult to identify the container or file required. Please can these be updated to allow sorting and/or filtering, particularly the container table Thanks, Tim

When i get a link that a thread has been updated it would be nice that the new posts in that thread have a soft background color to differentiate them from all the existing posts. This is only visible to me and once I have viewed it the first time it would not appear again as I have displayed the thread already.

Hello Everyone, Sometimes we need to save our configuration after big modifications to a stable point. I know that we can take a user configuraton set "UCS" to save our Configuration with the new modification , But what about defining a new object or a stable point which I can save the new configuartion to it after making sure that all services and the Device work well without issues. I suggest this because in busy networks such as ISPs , The governments or Banks ..etc which have several numbers of F5 appliances with multiple administarors to configure these appliances and maintain a huge number of Critical services. So I suggest to define a " Rescue point " and save the new configuration to after validation that all services work well after new changes in configuration files or any change to F5 appliance at all , this will enable us to rollback any new changes that impacted running services or F5 resources .... etc. To show my suggestion more : - when we need to create UCS file We issue ( #tmsh save sys ucs UCS_NAME.ucs ) so similarly we can issue new command to define a " Rescue point " Like this (#tmsh save sys Rescue ) and issue such this command ( #tmsh load sys Rescue ) to rollback again to Rescue point which is a validated stable point for F5 system at all. Briefly : Defining a stable point we can call it the " Rescue point " which contains a Good status for configuration and running services , and Returning back to it again if anyone made a change that impacted the running services.
Also If a Compare option added to F5 to see the difference between " Rescue Configurations " and " New added Configuration " to see exactly what added to F5 Configuration made this impact. Also this will help to restore impacted services quickly without the need of Loading UCS files. This suggestion not a replacement for UCS files , it’s only a light way can help for quick services Restoration , facilitating troublshooting or to be another option for Administrators to Backup their valid changes.

So I have signed up to the daily digest emails for some of the forums and groups here.
That gets me daily emails like this
DevCentral Community: Daily Digest
Hello boneyard,
You have 64 new subscriptions & activity updates in the DevCentral Community.
Board: Technical Forum (62 Updates)
name1 posted a new reply on 10-Jan-2023 05:04
Re: irule or policy to match url and then update pool members port
Then i see the whole content and then the next and next in the order they were posted. Which means content is mixed if two posts are discussed at the same time.
This becomes quite a long email and depending on the replies tricky to follow.
On another similar website I get a similar daily email that starts like this:
Discussions started 3 days ago, name1 (1 reply) Product integration with Securly MDM external link to thread view 1. I have not seen such an integration. You may ask... name3
started 8 days ago, name2 (11 replies) Product - Connecting from VPN with RDP external link to thread view 2. Did you see this video < name3 3. Yes, I have just seen the first video you... name2 4. any switching of VLANs breaks things like login... name4
So not the full content yet, but a summary per subject with the replies in order and quick first line. After that it will list the full posts, but this first section often is enough to see what I want to look into further. Also makes it easy to spot posts without replies.
For the people that use the Daily Digest (are there any more than me?), is this something you would like to see?

Hi DevCentral Team,
the DevCentral search is very hard to use. Whoever or whatever you search, the matching results wont highlight / reference the exact post where the search pattern matches, the reference will be always the entire conversation and the original question would be highlighted...
I would basically need to crawl all conversations to find some of my previous posts.
Cheers, Kai

Hi DevCentral Team,
a community is based on individual people - which are more than just a "Name Tag", a "Profile Picture", a "Forum Role" and "Badge/Post/Kudo/Solution" counter.
Please add some optional Profile fields to make the DevCentral Community more personal. Add fields like:
MotD
About me
Company Name / Job Titel
GIST URL:
Github URL:
LinkedIn/FB/etc.
Link to DevCentral Feature of the Month Interview (if exists)

Hi DevCentral Team,
it sometimes happens that questions are pushed out of the first screen of the DevCentral forum while being still actively used.
The DevCentral forum sorts the posts purely based on the date of the original question and not based on lastest comments. This makes it basically impossible to spot new comments made to rather old questions...
The setting "My settings : Preferences : General : Sort topics by" seems to be broken. Even if the mode is set to "Time of most recent post" it will still prefer postings via "Original posting date".
The "Sorted by:" drop down menu on the forums start page does also not include a filter to sort by "Latest changes/comments".
It would be cool if you implement a functionality to display the most recent changes in the forum independently if the change was a new post or a new comment to an existing post.
Cheers, Kai

We have roughly a dozen or more F5 appliances and numberous tenants. We were hoping to utilize BigIQ to manage everything from a single pane of glass, but have run into a feature option where we aren't able to add nodes via FQDN. Could you please add that as an option in the next update?

Hi DevCentral Team,
how about adding a "Copy to Clipboard" button to every code snippets posted on DevCentral. Its fancy to have such a button and would make it much easier to handle rather long code snippets...
"One Click" vs. "Selecting text while scrolling to the buttom and then hopefully stopping at the right moment... duh... rinse repeat..."

Hi DevCentral Team,
the usable width of DevCentral content is sometimes very limited. Especially if you enable "Threaded format" (default mode) and post an iRule snipped far deep into a conversation, the <PRE> formated content will become hard to read. Thanks to annoying word-wraps...
TBH... i dont know a single developer which is turning on "word wrap" just to read the code better on very small monitors. Word wrap makes it basically just worse, but miliage may vary for 0,0001% of the human being... 😉
I would like to propose a CSS change to make it easier to read code snippets here on DevCentral.
pre code {
white-space: pre ;
overflow-x: scroll ;
}

Hi DevCentral Team,
The mandatory "review" step is slighly annoying and somehow kills the dynamic of Codeshares. Why do I have to wait a few days till the CodeShare is published and why do I have to wait another few days to correct a simple typo?
Example:
iRule based RADIUS Health Monitor Builder - DevCentral (f5.com)
The Github link at the buttom of the Codeshare got somehow broken during initial publishing. I immediately corrected the link, but now having to wait another couple days till its review is done?
Why even review a CodeShare if such broken links are not detected before approving it?
Cheers, Kai

When we login to F5, 'Help' tab shows details about the available option. Give API or CLI command to search the same in CLI. Ex: Once i open Virtual servers in Local Traffic - Virtual servers -- Help or About section should have CLI command to check the same in CLI. Like ''# list ltm virtual VirstialServer1 '' --> So we get expertise on CLI and create plan to configure in CLI.

Relatively minor thing, but it would be nice if the option in the post hyperlink editor had the "Open in new page" option as the default selection. Or, if instead of a global change, maybe this could be a per-user preference?
