Why LB send "RST" to the request server?

There are two node in the system. One will send request to the other through loadbalance with tcp link.

The two node are in different network,

ex: one 10.0.1.17, the other 10.0.3.17.

There are a virtual server 10.0.2.17 in loadbalance. One server will send hundreds of request to virtual server to connect to the other server.

The first about 750 request will be successful,

but the later ones will fail.

The loadbalance will send "RST" message to the request server and the link is disconnect.

Why the loadbalance send "RST" to the request server, for the timeout under high load?

Is there any way to avoid sending the "RST"?

Thanks !!!

The above situation sounds odd. I can't think of a reason that the BIG-IP would be sending those RSTs unless the back end node was failing to answer the connections, and sending RSTs because it was overwhelmed with connections.

Perhaps there's a connection limit being reached somewhere? Are you sure these are originating from the BIG-IP, not the node behind it and just being passed along?
