What is the proper way to shutdown BIG-IP F5?

I need to power down my both BIG-IP LTM load balancer, what is the most proper way to do thid?

  • It would be i.e.

    shutdown -h now

    or simply

    halt

    Make sure to have AOM / SCCP attached (ideally with a serial console) for remote power on/off your hardware.

  • Actually if you want them to shutdown then power off use the following.

    shutdown -hP now

    h means halt.

    P means power off.

    If it is a physical device it should power off. If it's a virtual the guest operating system will power down.
