Hi,
You start F5 with vCMP... good challenge.
vCMP feature si available on high BigIP appliances and VIPRION. the vCMP feature was first available for VIPRION.
VIPRION are modular appliances with Blades including CPU, memory and network adapters. These blades are named slot by F5.
With vCMP, you can host a VM on only one SLOT or all slots.

Dear,
Its exactly what it means "a long, narrow aperture or slit in a machine for something to be inserted." Reference : Google Search.
As Viprion is based on chassis and blade technology, slot is a place where the blade goes in :)
You can get some more idea by having a look at VIPRION System Overview
