CirrocumulusVCMP 11.2.0 HF1 "Waiting for other disk activity to finish"
Following a restart of our Viprion host with 4 guests all four guests came back and stalled on restart with the messages "Waiting for other disk activity to finish".
I've found a known issue "ID 379213" That says
ID 379213If a guest provision or deployment stalls on 'waiting for other disk activity to finish', wait for all disk activity to finish. Once complete, bring the guest back to a configured state before attempting to provision or deploy again.
However, even after ensuring all 4 guests are in the Configured state and there is no significant disk I/O on the host ( double digit Kb wrtn/5seconds using iostat ) then moving one guest back to provisioned and then finally deployed.. we go right back to the same 'waiting for other disk activity to finish'.
Web support searches have provided nothing as well as google searches ( except for the known issues in the release notes ).
Anyone had any experience and know the work around to get guests running again?

Jason_40733The answer is sort of in "ID 379213".
Move all guests back into the "Configured" state. Then reboot your Host. After the Host comes back up, have it wait several minutes. Then deploy the guests.

This issue had already happened with me.You may also experience blade reset and guests not going up. Please upgrade to, at least, HF2. I should suggest HF4 which also fixed a long term uptime issue that may lead to a full reboot of the blade.- Antonio_Costa_9And please, include the hardware you are working with. If is not B2100, you should go with 11.4.x . B2100 have only 16gb and with 11.4 will lead the 4 guests to be less capable of running more than 1 or 2 modules.
- Jason_40733We are using the C2400 with B2100 blades. We're looking at upgrading to a later HF of 11.2.
