Unable to downgrade OS from v10.0.0 to v9.4.7

On downgrading the OS version on my BIGIP 3600 from 10.0.0 to 9.4.7, the device gets stuck at the boot menu with this message:   root (hd1,0) ...

You'll need to perform a "clean install" of 9.4.7; see SOL9745 for details.
