The cooperation of Automatic Policy building with learning mode in Application Security

By the first look they seems to be two different definitions of the Application Policy: the learning mode You can enable at the "Policy:Blocking:Settings" screen (where the Transparent or Blocking mode defined), and the Automatic Policy building you can switch ON/OFF at another screen - "Automatic Policy building:Configuration".

 

In my level of knowledge these definitions are strongly related: the Automatic Policy building will not work without learning enabled, and the learning without Automatic Policy building will not produce any Policy changes. Isn't it?

 

If smbdy can explain here the interaction between app. learning and policy building in quite simple way, I'll be very grateful!
