SYSLOG and Request loggin Profile
Hi Everyone,
Guys is there anyone who is using the SYSLOG as well as Request logging profile on the Virtual Servers? What purpose does the Request logging profile full fill and what is the added advantage with SYSLOG also. What software can be more effective for Request logging can it be done on the Syslog server? Is there any limitation or bottle neck in using this profile?

Logging will be stored in the default log file in LTM. The same needs to be exported to Syslog that will retain the logs for future reference and auditing purpose. You need to get the requirement what level of logs and and how your entity wants to get them logged. Splunk is the one prevalently used.

Hi Paraga,
Thanks for your input, I know that by default the F5 unit stores all the logs in the default log file also I am aware that these logs get over written so needs to be transferred to an external logging server. I believe you need to read my question again where I asked the difference between syslog and the request loggin.
Regards
