NimbostratusThanks Kevin, yes food for thought. I suspected the re-direct was at least part of the problem after reading this article on dev central. There's a script there that enables "clientless-mode" for certain user-agents. So am testing this at the moment and will look at the visual policy path as well. Thank you for your thorough response.

when using clientless-mode, be sure only the unauthenticated request add the clientless-mode header...
When clientless-mode is on, the request buffer is limited to 64K which is too much restrictive for Webdav.
that's why clientless mode in on only if session cookie doesn't exist in my irule.
