'**Probe Interval** and '**Probe Timeout**

Hi Guys,

  1. Could you please explain what does 'Probe Interval and 'Probe Timeout means in a Health Monitor?
  2. How is it different from Interval and Timeout?

Appreciate your help. :)

  • Hi,

There is a rule where Probe Timeout should be 3xProbe Interval + 1

Probe Interval is the Interval between two health check

Probe Timeout is the time if no response received the member or node will be marked down

    Hope it helps

Lets say a health monitor is configured as below:

Interval : 10 seconds Timeout : 31 seconds Probe Interval: 1 second Probe Timeout: 5 seconds

Could you explain how these 4 things are related or how each parameter plays its role to determine the health of the end server? Considering both scenarios where the end server passes the health check and fails.

      Thanks again.
