PeopleSoft REN server issues

Hi, i have a problem setting up PeopleSoft REN server with F5 in front of it.

 

 

We have a BIG-IP 10.2.0 Build 1789.0 Hotfix HF2 Device

 

Our clients use HTTPS to connect to PeopleSoft.

 

BIG-IP is used for offloading SSL.

 

From the BIG-IP to WebLogic is HTTP.

 

 

1. Can anyone tell me how REN server is setup within PeopleSoft REN configuration?

 

2. Can anyone tell me how to tweek the respons times within LB if we use LB for REN server purpose?

 

Or performance tweeks inside PeopleSoft?

 

(PeopleTools - REN server configuration - REN server cluster)

 

We have NO problems setting up REN server without a Load Balancer in front of it.

 

 

- We have a Oracle PeopleSoft multiserver environment.

 

Two servers, on each server runs:

 

- Application server

 

- Process Scheduler

 

- Oracle Weblogic

 

- REN server

 

 

Now we want to use BIG-IP to LB.

 

Everything works fine for PIA, we only have problems setting up PeopleSoft REN environment using the BIG-IP.

    I don't have a solution for you but I am exactly in the same position. I have logged a call with F5 and Oracle, but they have not been able to resolve the issue yet. PIA works fine, but REN does not like the combination of HTTP/HTTPS according to the Oracle documentation.

     

     

    I was wondering if you had managed to get it working since posting this thread. If so, please help!.

    My problem is solved, do not ask me how i did this?

     

    Because i have changed a lot in the passed, also config of our F5 BIG IP is upgraded.

     

     

    I want to help you, please let me know how i can help you.

     

     

    Maybe i cann explain to you how i set up my settings within PeopleSoft?

    Hi Edwin, there have been alot of views on this question, so I think there is quite a bit of interest in this. If you would be willing to share your REN configuration details, and send me your bigip.conf file off the big-ip, we can probably figure out what works, and provide that as information for everyone.
