Oct 24, 2007Moving resources into administrative partitions
When upgrading to 9.4.x from 9.2.x or 9.3.x, you get the nifty new administrative partitions feature.
It appears you need to setup a config with the partitions already defined in order to create resources (virtual services, pools, etc) in specific partitions, other than common.
Is there a way to move existing resources into a partition without deleting and recreating them?
If not, is there a recommended way of doing this? Would it be too risky to make use of the new 9.4.2 of exporting a single configuration file, editing the resultant .scf file with the appropriate partition information, and re-importing this manually updated .scf file?
Thanks in advance.

There is currently no way of moving objects around partitions via the GUI. You would need to edit the bigip.conf file or .scf file and move the objects around. Then import then. Run "b verify load" before making them active. This will run the bigip.conf through a checker to make sure there are no errors. I would suggest doing this during a change window just to be careful
