Apr 17, 2012Monitor showing Down
I have 2 DIPs configured with monitors on port 80 working fine.
But the same monitor on port 443 for the same DIPs is showing as Inactive, Down.
Any ideas..would help here.

Or the other way..to make the pool member show UP is to create the monitor object "/HeartBeat/Hearbeat.htm" on the server, right?yes - genseek_32178

nitass,
We found that monitor traffic is not hitting the server at all from the IIS logs. Server owner says,
https://10.20.30.10/HeartBeat/Heartbeat.htm --> will not work
bcoz
we put a hosts header on 443. It' responds to https://rxpsws/
but when i tried, curl -kv https://rxpsws/heartbeat/heartbeat.html - got the below message
* Couldn't resolve host 'rxpsws'
Is thr something we can do from the F5 or on pool member side to concretely check why or why not traffic is reach the server? - nitass

can you try this send string?
GET /HeartBeat/Heartbeat.htm HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: rxpsws\r\nConnection: Close\r\n\r\n

nitass,
i will try the new string.
Do you see any reason why there are no hits in the IIS logs, even though we sending traffic? Is thr a way we can verify this.? - nitass

Do you see any reason why there are no hits in the IIS logs, even though we sending traffic? Is thr a way we can verify this.?i do not think traffic does not hit the web server since we do see 404 not found response. i think your application team means traffic does not hit the web server virtual host (rxpsws). - genseek_32178

is there a way we can simulate monitor traffic on port 445 as well.
The same pool server are down for port 443, have another NIC, dual-homed, carrying another IP as a pool member in a different pool. This member is also showing down for port 445. - nitass

e.g.[root@ve1023:Active] config smbget -u administrator -p password smb://200.200.200.103/test/hello.txt Using workgroup MYGROUP, user administrator smb://200.200.200.103/test/hello.txt [root@ve1023:Active] config cat hello.txt hello world - genseek_32178
