Make virtual server not to response when all of its members down
Hi,
We are using some health monitoring checking program (WhatsUP) to monitor the healthiness of Virtual Server. We find that even if all members of the virtual server is DOWN, the virtual server still has response. (e.g. there is still response if we "telnet ") Therefore, our monitoring program cannot alert us.
Is there any method we can do to make the virtual server does not response if all of its members are down?
Thanks a lot!
Regards,
Terry

Hi Terry,
Which protocol(s) are the virtual servers? Which protocol(s) are you testing from WhatsUp with?
With a TCP profile added to a virtual server, LTM will automatically answer a three way handshake regardless of whether the pool is up.

Hi Aaron,
Thanks.
Below is some more information about the virtual server:
Service Port: 443 HTTPS
Protocol : TCP
Our WhatsUP is actually just testing whether port 443 of the virtual server has response or not.
Now,
The Availability of the pool is Offline(Enabled)
The Availability of the virtual server is Offline (Enabled)
Since port 443 of the virtual server still has response, our WhatsUP cannot alert us.
Is there any way solving this problem?
Thanks
Terry
