Link Controller : outbound traffic go to ISP 2 until ISP 1 is reached the bandwidth limit

Dear all,

i have to know how to implement the following idea.

Link Controller :

outbound traffic :

ISP 1 10M bandwidth

ISP 2 5M bandwidth

now , i have ISP 1 , if ISP 1 reach the 10M limit , i would like to direct the outbound traffic via ISP2.

is it possible to do it ?

any iRules ?

  • Hi Martin,

Yes, you can do it by adding weights to your links.

Browse to the LC -> Links and click on ISP1.

Under config change it to advanced.

Select the weighting parameter set to Price(Dynamic Ratio)

In the incremental segments add Up to : 10000000 bps @ 60 $/Mbps

and check the box for Duplex billing.

    next clickon LC-> Links -> ISP2

Under config change it to advanced.

Select the weighting parameter set to Price(Dynamic Ratio)

In the incremental segments add Upto : 5000000bpd @ 120$/Mbps.

and check the box for Duplex billing.

Now in the LC > Inbound WideIps -> Select the wideip and select the members tab.

Select LB method as Quality of Service and under quality of service.. Mark all options to 0 except for Link Capacity.

Change the link capacity to say 1000 and click update..

    you should be good

    Hope this helps.. !!

    Santosh.
