Aug 14, 2011Impact on enabling TCP KeepAlive on a profile
Dear All
We have a wildcard FORWARDING VS configured to process all our internet traffic. This device is connected to 2 ISP routers and are running these routers ACTIVE-ACTIVE. We have enabled Loose Connection Initiate and Loose Close to support Async routing; ( Traffic may flow out through first ISP and comes back through 2nd ).
Could you please help me to understand the impact of enabling TCP KeepAlive on the same Profile.
Regards
KM

Hi KM,
TMM doesn't send keepalives in v9 or v10 with a FastL4 profile that has loose init and close enabled. You might try to ensure synchronous routing, disable loose init/close and then enable keepalives on the FastL4 profile (v10 or higher required).

Hi Aaron
Thanks for your response. We have set the keepalive as 245 sec in fastL4 profile and loose init/close is enabled as business need async routing.
Does this mean that keepalive value doesnt have any significant in our configuration.

Hi KM,
I think the setting will be ignored and TMM will not send keepalives if you have loose init/close enabled on the FastL4 profile.

I dont know why, I am not able to post a new query :(
I can type summary field, but not on actual message filed & also not able to submit. Is it any java issue or something. I tried with 3 browsers.
