High availability Failover problem
Hi everyone,
i have some question about implementation High Availabilty feature on F5 (DSC)
if we implemented on mode actice-active sync failover with 2 traffic-group and two device are this feature do failover for case if one of two device failed or i mean shutdown...?? because if i test to disable one of interface "internal" of big-ip device on "traffic-group one" for example it will be causing all VS to be a red icon, but it cant do failover to next bigip device traffic-group two". actually can it do failover to next bigip device? if one of interface bigip device have some trouble or failure interface??(not failure appliance just one of interface internal or external)
Thanks
sorry could you perhaps try to write it again, with some steps or such. now i miss what exactly you are trying to accomplish or want to know.
for one thing disabling an interface will usually not cause any failover with a big-ip without extra configuration.
You need to enable a configuration setting called vlan failsafe. This will cause the F5 to constantly monitor network traffic and in case of traffic loss it will fail over after a system algorithm has confirmed the data loss. More here: K13297

hii...thanks for the response... : ), my accomplish is to redundant function link controller in case if one of interface BIG-IP Appliance get failure, it will failover to peer device through Device Service Clustering (DSC), (not system failure like lose power or crash system, just one of interface example "internal")
in my simulation i try configure BIG-IP redundant with 2 device with method DSC Active-Active, so next i tried to disabled interface "internal" let we say on "bigip1" handle "traffic-group1", than will be damaged all Virtual Server will be down or "red", i hope with DSC it will be Failover to peer cluster let we say "bigip2" handle "traffic-group2" because on internal bigip2 interface is good, but that not happened, all Virtual Server handled by traffic group1 on bigip1 cant be access
next i try to shutdown system "bigip1" then all Virtual server handled by traffic-group1 on bigip1 can be failover to bigip2 and can be access, so i get conclussion from configuration DSC is it can be failover to next peer device if system bigip appliance is completely down, is that true?
because i cant find feature when i configuration DSC to trigered and monitor interface status when one of get failure it will be failover from traffic-group1 on bigip1 to trafic-group2 on bigip2 rather than system failure or shutdown, Thanks ...
Amine Kadimi (below) gives one option, vlan failsafe does more or less what you want. it doesn't monitor the interface, but it checks for traffic on a certain vlan.
will that work for you?

Hi,,,Boneyard.....I think VLAN failsave its work.....thank you for u response...i very appreciate it

Case Closed...Solution is enabled VLAN Fail-safe with action Failover, on software version 12.1.2 you can configure used web configuration by the way on menu Network --> VLANs --> click (VLAN_NAME) ---> Advanced --> Fail-safe (Enabled) --> Fail-safe Timeout --> Action --> Update
Thanks for all to response my question,,,,,
