Forwarding IP recommendations - using destination /32
Hello team,
I am looking for any information related to "how to" create Forwarding IP with destination /32 address, recently I had an issue with a backend server, I created the Forwarding IP and destination was that server IP, well the server rebooted automatically for patches, then the F5 took over that IP (didn't realize a virtual address is automatically created under virtual address list) with ARP and echo enabled. so the server was added to one pool, because of that , the pool went down.
Do you know if recommended action is use /24 or different subnet than /32 when creating Forwarding IP, or disable ARP and echo for Forwarding IPs.
f5learning9 In order to provide the best solution for your enivronment I need a bit more information. If you can please explain what you are attempting to achieve by creating a forwarding virtual server for this single destination IP only?

if you use server address as ltm vs dest address, then you need to use vs type Forwarding, not Standard:
