Failover object missing in traffic group
Hello Folks,
When we cannot see an object within failover objects and how to add it manually?
I have a VS, which isn't appearing in Failover objects. And strange thing is, for that specific VS, traffic goes to standby appliance and that is actually processes the traffic. As a result the VS servers intermittent services and looses the connection and functionality anytime. I have tried creating a new VS, however that behaves the same way. And again that VS is not reflecting to failover objects.
Any clues?
Thanks,
Darshan

what traffic group does the virtual server address belong to? is it traffic-group-1?

There is only one traffic group available i.e. traffic-group-1 and the VS doesn't appearing there.

it should be like this.
root@(ve11a)(cfg-sync In Sync)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) list ltm virtual-address 172.28.24.10 ltm virtual-address 172.28.24.10 { address 172.28.24.10 mask 255.255.255.255 traffic-group traffic-group-1 }
these are known issues below. not sure if you are hitting it.
sol14104: The traffic group definition may be missing from the '/ ' and '/Common' partitions

Hello Nitass,
Thanks for the quick answers. while executing the given command at TMSH, it returns "was not found" as a response.
For eg.
root@(ve11a)(cfg-sync In Sync)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) list ltm virtual-address 172.28.24.10 01020036:3: The requested virtual address (/Common/10.0.36.200) was not found.
Any idea? I am running 11.2.1 release (no hotfix upgrade applied).
Thank you, Darshan

can you try gui? it is at local traffic > virtual servers > virtual address list.

Hello Folks,
It seems there was an open issue of F5. I have had opened a case with Support and got to know that this was an open issue and need to add VS manually for all those VSs, which are not appearing in traffic group.
Here is the document for the same. http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/14000/800/sol14832.html?sr=37332173
Thank you, Darshan

Hi Darshan,
I am on 11.5.1 Hotfix 5 and experiencing same issues. As soon as i create a network virtual server, the sync fails. Any ideas how to fix this. Thanks !

have you checked /var/log/ltm? what was there?
- aj1NimbostratusThank you nitass for the reply. Turns out i had different external vlans on the HA pair (since we are not using floating-IPs externally and the links are all /30s). As soon as i re-created those external vlans (now with same name on both units) config-sync started working.
