F5 Radius Authentication

Hello, I am currently trying to set up my F5 devices to allow admin access via Radius. I have a radius server on windows server 2012.

I have seen the following documentation : https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/11000/400/sol11431.html?sr=25610750authorization but am having trouble implementing the information. If this is the guide to follow to get it working, how do I put the dictionary files to be part of the Radius?

If I put 1 in the vendor assigned attribute, what do I select out of the following STRING/DECIMAL/HEXADECIMAL/INETADDR/INETADDR6 ? Then what would I enter in the attribute Value ?

For the F5, I have set up the authentication as remote Radius, Primary, Host X.X.X.X, Authenticate only

I am unfortunately unable to screenshot.

Is there a lot more to do? Is there a guide available from someone that has done this before. My lack of F5 knowledge/exposure is causing me a few problems on this. I just want to be able to log into the device using a Radius server to control access.

Thank You

Adie

  • Patrik, Thank you for the reply. Do you mean that I don't need to set up the remote roles as per that document? Just set up the tabs with the Radius server config?

    Thanks
