F5 hotfix upgrade

Can we install f5 hotfix direcly to currently active bootable partition or do we need to install hotfix on the non active partition and reboot the appliance and make currently non active partition as active one

    You cannot install to an active volume and must use a different one; you then change active volume and then reboot. On a Viprion, the system reboots automatically after running the switchboot command.
