NimbostratusExchange 2010 latency when accessing multiple calendars
Hello,
We recently upgraded from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. As part of the migration we acquired a pair of VIPRION 2400s in front of the CAS array. We have a SNAT pool with 6 addresses and there are 4 CAS servers. The configuration was built with the 2012_04_06 version of the Exchange 2010 iApp.
The issue that we are having is that users are experiencing about a 30 sec latency when opening additional calendars. When we modify the local host file to go directly to one of the CAS servers there is no latency. Outlook 2003 clients experience these long delays and Outlook 2010 clients experience a smaller delay.
I've also tried applying the 2012_06_08 version of the iApp to a Test VS that we've created for testing with the same results.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be the issue? Let me know if you need additional information.

Try to reconfigure using iApp and use LAN instead of WAN in response to the question:

That was the solution. Both Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2010 clients are significantly faster.
That's something that I should have caught, I just blew by that option when I was reviewing the iApp configuration.
