EdgeClient 32-bit and 64-bit
Does EdgeClient application comes with both 32-bit and 64-bit?
is there a way to confirm if the package we used is 32-bit and 64-bit?
How do we ensure we have 64-bit installed?
We observe all our users are seeing 32-bit app while the laptops/windows are 64-bit
The Windows client components are mostly 32 bit and are fully supported in 64 bit OSs. Because Edge Client is widely deployed on a lot of Windows systems and the benefit of using 100% native 64 bit components in Windows is negligible in this usage, we decided that on balance this refactoring did not justify the regression risk. We did refactor a few of the performance-critical components such as the TLS-to-PPP tunnelserver proxy bit that handles bulk encryption and the VPN driver that handles bulk comms between tunnelserver and the operating system.
You should be able to prove this yourself on a test system by carefully watching process CPU usage while connected to an APM VPN with a client on the LAN using a test tool, like something that generates a lot of incoming and outgoing TCP.
Edge Client on Linux is 64-bit only. In this case, the operating system interfaces that the client uses are much simpler.

Thank you for the wonderful explanation.

Hi Lucas
Thanks for the update.
So the EdgeClient for Windows is running as 32-bit by design.
Is there any roadmap for F5 to make it 64-bit

You can do so by going to System > Software Management > APM Clients on the Configuration utility

Thanks for the details , we need to know APM client is 32bit or 64 bit .. I have download the exe file from F5 connectivity and install on both Windows 10 32bit and 64 bit both are supported . but exe file is in 32 bit on both Windows .
It means exe file which we downloading on F5 is only 32bit not 64bit.

Thanks
We understand it's supported with both 64-bit and 32-bit.
Since all of users are showing up as 32-bit(screenshot shared above), installed via component update, we would like to know how can we confirm if the package we installed is 32-bit
We were expecting our edgeclient to be 64-bit
I am not getting any way except to make a Customm package for
I found a way for Downloading the client package for Windows and customizing itYou can download a Windows client package and distribute it to clients. -
On the Main tab, clickAccessConnectivity / VPNConnectivityProfiles .A list of connectivity profiles displays.
-
Select a connectivity profile.
-
Click theCustomize Package button. The Customize Windows Client Package popup screen displays with Available Components displayed.
- Click
Download.Apologies for not finiding a fix for your queries. The screen closes and the package,BIGIPEdgeClient.exe, downloads.
The customized package, BIGIPEdgeClient.exe, is downloaded to your client. It is available for you to distribute. Users must install the package, or, if Component Installer is available on the client, it can install the package for the user.As of now i could not found any help on selecting 64 bit option for downloading windows client but i can see that for Linux OS , i fi will find in the mean time i wiil surely update you.On the F5 Go to the 3rd TAB downloads
