Nov 20, 2006do we need to reload the lb?
Hi All,
We were trying some load balancing tests. While Big IP is up and running we shutdown our servers listening on port 7001 (lb is configured to forwards http requets to 7001), moved our servers to 8001 and started a different service at 7001 (our own load balancing service). We'd hoped that big ip will forward our requests to 7001 - where new service is running. Instead big Ip caused time-outs. Do we have to run reload or similar command when we shutdown and restart services behind the lb ?
Thanks a lot
Yekesa

Hello,
This issue isn't related to iRules. You can contact F5 Support for product related questions.
In general though, there shouldn't be an issue if you redefine the nodes in a pool. If you're using monitors to check the state of the nodes in the pool, they may need to be updated. If the nodes weren't answering the monitors during the changeover, the BIG-IP might have still marked them down until a monitor successfully polled the nodes.
Support should be able to provide you with more detail though.
